The artwork
The artwork “Seen this leaf before” captures the essence of a man navigating through a dense and mysterious jungle, where every bend in the path seems to lead him back to where he started. This repetitive movement symbolizes the feeling of walking in circles, a metaphor for life’s challenges and the inner struggle to find one’s way.
Through the dense layer of dark leaves and shadows, a pair of eyes are suggested that stare at the man. The eyes can be interpreted as witnesses to the man’s struggles, or as symbols of the unconscious emotions that accompany feelings of loss.
“Seen this leaf before” invites us to delve into our own inner jungles, confront our fears, and navigate towards a path that leads us home.
