The artwork
These works are inspired by analogue photographic processing, often departing from the artist's memories of place, photographic material, or even direct observations. The paintings are done with variously sized trowels and spatulas, executed in one continuous “take” leading up to the final, “developed” image. This process can take a few minutes or several hours, depending on the subject.
The semi-landscapes are concentrated photographic renderings of specifically colored light and atmosphere.
